Workshops

Coordinators: Janne Oeiras (UFPA) & Raquel Oliveira Prates (UFMG)

Workshops intend to promote discussions about topics of interest for the community, as well as discussing tendencies and emerging subjects. Workshops will happen on October 21, 2008, in parallel with the tutorials session. Workshop proposals must contain a cover page that states the workshop length (4 or 8 hours), name and qualification of the presenters, activities that will take place and the method for selecting participants. Following the cover page, the authors must provide a 4-page abstract in the ACM format. Workshop coordinators must have acknowledged experience in the workshop and scientific contributions in the area. Accepted workshops will have their abstracts published in the conference proceedings. Contributions to the workshop by workshop participants will be provided by workshop coordinators. Workshop proposals will be evaluated regarding aspects of originality, coordinators´ qualification, scientific and technical quality, subject relevance and the potential to attract participants.
